UFC 250: Cornerman for Ian Heinisch has tested positive for COVID-19

A cornerman for Ian Heinisch had tested positive for COVID-19, and causing the fighter to be removed from UFC 250. A second test came back negative, giving the fighter a second chance.

In a reversal, Ian Heinisch is once more scheduled to face Gerald Meerschaert in a middleweight bout at UFC 250.

UFC 250 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.

The positive test was first reported by TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter and confirmed by MMA Junkie.

This was the first known positive UFC test since Ronaldo Souza tested positive and was pulled the day before UFC 249.

The UFC brought in newcomer Anthony Ivy as Heinisch’s potential replacement, but it appears Heinisch will now be brought back to fight in the preliminary bout.

UFC 250 is scheduled for Saturday at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission is overseeing the event with new COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Because a person affiliated with Heinisch tested positive in the closed setting, the fighter associated with the positive test needed to be pulled to prevent a possible spread of the coronavirus to others involved in the event.

Bronsteter reports the cornerman would be tested again to determine whether there was a false positive.

Main Card:

  • #12 Blagoy Ivanov vs #13 Augusto Sakai (heavyweight)
  • Billy Quarantillo vs Spike Carlyle
  • Roosevelt Roberts vs Brok Weaver (lightweight)

  • Louis Smolka vs Casey Kenney (bantamweight)
  • Chris Gutierrez vs Vince Morales (featherweight)

Expect the smaller cage to produce action and urgency from both fighters. The question is whether Burns has evolved enough as a striker to hang with Woodley’s pinpoint countering.

The more Burns amps up the pressure, the more dangerous Woodley might become provided he can avoid coming out flat as he did against Usman. The key for Woodley might ultimately be his takedown defense and whether he can keep the fight standing, where he holds advantages in technique.

Although Burns has looked great of late, Woodley represents a legitimate step up in competition and possesses the kind of elite striking that has given Burns issues in the past.

Result: Woodley via TKO2

UFC 249 Odds

In the last scheduled tour, Khabib was a favorite of -200, and Ferguson rose to +170. When the battle finally ended on April 18, 2020, Numagomedov opened with a preference of -250, while Ferguson initially had a chance of +210.

As of December 16, 2019, Khabib was the -188 favorite, and Ferguson lost +150. Ferguson has lost since Ferguson was supposed to play a few years ago, but given that El Kukuy himself has achieved a leading winning streak of 12 games, which is more than the odds of starting. Closer to the game, current odds show this.

Ferguson is perhaps the most serious problem Numagomedov faces. Habib himself also admitted that Ferguson’s ability to take damage and recover, yield and fight at incredible and amazing speeds made him a worthy person to test.

Preview of UFC 249

Nurmagomedov is perhaps the most important catcher and fighter in UFC history. We saw how he ran in every opponent he encountered, turning them into a pause or a decisive decision. Before starting a destructive ground attack and a pound attack that was almost impossible to stop, he violently knocked the enemy down.

Nurmagomedov’s weakness has always been in his amazing performance, but in the last games, although he is still far from the elite figures under his feet, we have seen his improvement in standing position. Ferguson is one of the most comprehensive fighters in the UFC. He has an experienced elite that can hit him in the arms and legs. He threw spinning strokes, and his elbows and knees were unconventional, and all this came from awkward angles.

It is difficult to determine where he landed because he struck correctly. In the field, he is also one of the most cunning performance performers in the industry. Although Ferguson was easily overwhelmed, he was wounded in several rounds. However, he has shown an amazing recovery and can set up midfield battles to win.

Who Will Win?

This is an interesting battle. We saw Khabib dominating during his time at the UFC, but Ferguson did the same in the previous round. El Kukuy has an advantage in terms of growth and reach, so if he can continue, he will have an advantage over Khabib, because Ferguson is the best striker. However, it is almost impossible to fight Khabib, because the Eagles are such a dominant fighter that they fight every time he chooses.

It would also be interesting to knock Ferguson down, as Al-Kukuy can knock him down, and even if someone is on top of him, he can pull obedience. Khabib usually puts pressure on opponents, but Ferguson is a good athlete, and he also has a good defense in the end. If Khabib fought, there would be nothing wrong with that, because Ferguson would be ready to take the slightest mistake.

I think this competition is 50-50. If Khabib can defeat Ferguson in five rounds, he will win the fight. However, if he decides to test his improved batting skills, he will lose points or be ultimately knocked down by Ferguson’s best striker. Given the cost of the bets right now, I’m lucky with Ferguson in the 50-50 match.

Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is the undisputed UFC lightweight champion and one of the leading fighters in sports. Nurmagomedov, known as the Eagles, was undefeated in his MMA career, winning 8 knockout matches and 10 wins with a record of 28-0.

His unbeatable record is currently the longest unbeatable record in MMA. Khabib – 12: 0 in the UFC octagon and 3: 0 in the battle at the World Cup. Nurmagomedov twice won the world sambo championship, twice without the Gi Expert welterweight championship and the European hand-to-hand championship.

A 31-year-old boy from Dagestan, Russia, is 5-10 years old and can reach a height of 70 inches while fighting the Orthodox position. He was the first Muslim to win the UFC title, and his fight in 2018 at UFC 229 with Conor McGregor was the highest-paid PPV event in UFC history.

Tony Ferguson “El Cucuy”

Tony Ferguson is a former UFC middleweight champion and winner of the 13th Ultimate Fighting season. The 35-year-old football player from Ventura, California, is currently the No. 1 lightweight rival in the UFC and the No. 9 best fighter in the boxing race. Ferguson, known as Al-Kukuy, won the 12-game winning streak, the longest in the UFC lightweight sector. Together with Nurmagmedov, he is considered one of the best lightweights in the history of UFC.

Ferguson is a former NCWA national champion and two national champions. He is also a former welterweight champion and tenth post-war UFC winner. Ferguson is known as Al-Kukuy, he is 6-0 tall and reaches a distance of 76½ inches, which is incompatible with traditional positions.

He shot 25-3 and spent 12 knockout games and 8 wins. He has not lost a single match since consensus on Michael Johnson in 2012. Ferguson has won 9 of his last 12 suspension games, including 6 games. He won the lightweight mid-term title by strangling Kevin Lee in 2017 but was injured.

Smith vs Teixeira Live Stream UFC Fight Night — Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira: Three fights to watch on a loaded fight card,

After a brilliant UFC 249 card on Saturday, the UFC gets back to action just four days later with a Fight Night event. As with UFC 249, the event will be held at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with no fans in attendance due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The card is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira, with significant ramifications for the division. Smith is the No. 5-ranked light heavyweight in the CBS Sports UFC Divisional Rankings, while Teixeira checks in at No. 8. But they’re not the only familiar faces at this event, which has intriguing fights up and down the card.

We took a look at the 11 fights scheduled to go down in Jacksonville and picked out the three fights you most need to keep an eye on.

Can’t get enough UFC? Subscribe to my podcast — State of Combat with Brian Campbell — where I break down everything you need to know in the Octagon and be sure to listen to our preview of UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira below.

Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira: Since moving up to light heavyweight, Smith has fought three current or past champions and two men who challenged for the title. In that time, he has gone 4-1 with the lone loss coming to division champ Jon Jones. In addition, all four of his wins in the division have come via stoppage. Including his time at middleweight, Smith has gone 15-3 since 2014.

Teixeira’s recent run hasn’t been as impressive, but he is on a three-fight winning streak and has fought plenty of killers in his UFC career, including his own loss in a title fight with Jones. Going back to the same 2014 start, Teixeira has compiled an 8-5 record and six of those have come via stoppage.

This is ultimately a battle between two men sitting on the edge of title contention. The loser will be knocked from the fringe while the winner stays alive in a division that could become wide open should Jones move up to heavyweight — or manage to fall into more trouble with the law. Add the stakes to what should be a fan-friendly fight between two fighters who go for the finish and you have a must-watch main event.

Alexander Hernandez vs. Drew Dober: After losing his third pro fight, Hernandez rattled off eight consecutive wins, including two in the UFC before making a big jump in competition to fight Donald Cerrone in January 2019. He would ultimately lose that fight by TKO in a Fight of the Night. Hernandez successfully rebounded in July with a win over Fransico Trinaldo but left much to be desired. Dober has been fighting in the UFC since 2013, going 8-5 during his Octagon stint. He is on a two-fight winning streak and 5-1 since 2017.

This lightweight fight has sneaky potential to win Fight of the Night. Both men have two post-fight bonuses in their careers and both tend to see fights finished rather than going to the scorecards. A win by either man would be a statement victory and push them close to breaking into the top 10 at 155 pounds.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Philipe Lins: Lins will be making his UFC debut after competing in Bellator and then winning the PFL heavyweight tournament in 2018. He has been out of action for more than a year but 15 of his 17 career fights have not made it to the final bell. Arlovski is 3-9 since 2016 and has been notoriously “chinny” in his career, catching 11 knockout losses in 49 career fights. He also has 17 knockout wins with 67% of his career fights have ended in a knockout or submission.

Arlovski needs a win to justify taking up a roster spot at 41 years old and Lins will be gunning to prove he can hang with the heavyweights on the biggest stage in the sport. That all lines up for some potentially explosive action on the preliminary card.

Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 2: Everything You Need To Know

Mcgregor vs Poirier 2 Confirmed

The UFC has given a formal offer to Conor McGregor to fight against Dustin Poirier under the non- titled lightweight fight category and this fight titled as McGregor vs Poirier 2.

Dana White confirmed it to Barstool sports on Wednesday. There are other UFC sources that confirmed the news to ESPN about the bout which came in a physical contract.

Though they offered McGregor with Poirier fight, his agency expressed its desire to arrange a fight event with Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino superstar.

Conor is looking at his fans

Conor is likely to fight a sparring match aka freestyling combat fighting with Dustin. This event will be completely dedicated to charity. Great initiative though!

McGregor vs Poirier: Are they really going to fight?

On Wednesday Poirier left a savage remark on tweeter saying “I accept”. He left his impression with just these two words and nothing. But he told ESPN in a personal message that he did not receive any physical contract from the UFC.

McGregor has been willing to fight in matches recently. He said he was “frustrated” because he could not be able to participate in any. He even shared the screenshots of some direct messages with Dana White, president of the UFC, where he theoretically begged to arrange an event for him.

White then reclaimed his defence saying he offered the position of “Replacement Fighter” to McGregor for a lightweight title between Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson. But as it makes sense it hurt his pride so he denied it. Later he expressed his desire to fight Justin Gaethje. But poor McGregor was dissed again. Justin chooses Nurmagomedov.

Finally, God smiled upon this Irish man when Dustin Poirier agreed to meet him for a charity event. We think this will give him head break to start anew!

McGregor vs Poirier 2: When and Where the fight will happen?

The charity fight event McGregor vs Poirier 2 will take place on December 12, 2020, in Dublin, Ireland. Where the notorious one lives.
